At the recent club presentation evening members and guests paid tribute to the contribution made by Dick Woodhams to the club over the last 50 years, upon his retirement as club chairman and groundsman. Club President, Stephen Betts, made a presentation to Dick on behalf of members past and present.
Dick joined Offham Cricket Club in 1971, 50 years ago. Since then Dick has made an immense contribution to the club, both as a playing member and by contributing endless hours behind the scenes.
Dick first assumed responsibility for the square as groundsman 38 years ago and also became its ninth Chairman in 2000. Every since then Dick has led the club with distinction and during his tenure the club was promoted to the Kent League. He has overseen the club’s development into a mature member of the league and behind the scenes has worked tirelessly made sure that the club has a strong future.
